|
This position is located in the Office of the Director, Division of Administration, United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), established to undertake the site coordination of Umoja deployment activities for the Geneva office as well as other locations and offices in scope.
The Site Coordinator will report to the Umoja Deployment Coordinator for Geneva, Director of Administration of UNOG.

Responsibilities
|
|
|
|
Within delegated authority, the incumbent will coordinate the implementation and stabilization of the Umoja system as per the Umoja deployment plan. She/He will lead a small team of deployment experts in various administrative areas as well as coordinate the efforts of the administrative community in Geneva, Bonn, Turin and associated field offices in the execution of the various deployment tasks.
The Umoja Site Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:
• Takes the lead to develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes/projects, etc.; directs subordinates in programme/project development, implementation, monitoring and assessment; directs review of relevant documents and reports; identifies priorities, problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and initiates follow-up actions; manages the compliance of the schedule with project key milestone and deliverables.
• Directs research and programme evaluation and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
• Supervises preparation of various written outputs, e.g. background papers, analysis, substantial sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
• Directs substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.
• Manages outreach activities; designs and conducts training workshops, seminars, etc., makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
• Leads field missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials and other parties and drafting mission summaries, etc.
• Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and ensures preparation of related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).
• Serves as an effective spokesperson and establishes collaboration and partnerships with key stakeholders at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Ensures effective utilization, supervision and development of staff; Guides, evaluates and mentors staff
• May perform other duties as required.

Education
|
|
|
|
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, strategic or operations management, information systems or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
|
|
|
|
Work Experience
|
|
|
|
A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in ERP design, development, change management, implementation and support at the international level is required, as well as demonstrated project or programme management experience in the implementation of administrative processes. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Umoja design, organizational transformation and process improvements highly desirable. Expertise in one or more United Nations administrative business areas (human resources management, financial resources management, supply chain) desirable.

Languages
|
|
|
|
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required, as well as knowledge of French. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
|

|
|
Assessment
|
|
|
|
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which will be followed by competency-based interview.

Extension of the appointment is subject to Extension of the mandate and/or the availability of the funds.
