|
This position is located in the Law Enforcement Solutions Team, Software Services Unit, in the Information Technology Service within the Division for Management of the United Nations office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the project coordinator and the Chief, Software Services Unit and overall guidance of the Chief of the Information Technology Service. The incumbent will participate in the development and implementation of sustainable and affordable IT solutions to be deployed in key government institutions of Member States including anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities
|
|
|
|
• Develop, test and debug windows applications, web applications and web services using Microsoft .NET technologies (ASP.NET MVC, WPF, and Windows Forms). In addition to other basic technologies such as: SQL, HTML, JavaScript.
• Prepare technical and user documentation for deployed computer application systems, as well as training materials, and conduct technical presentations using UNODC standard tools: Lotus Notes, Visio and MS Office products;
• Maintain functional specifications for computer application systems, programs and procedures developed and/or modified;
• Provide support for deployed computer application systems including version management, deployment and data recovery;
• Perform any other duties as required.

Education
|
|
|
|
High School Diploma or equivalent with certification in C#.NET technologies being an asset. Must have passed a technical test at Headquarters or an equivalent locally-administered test at Offices Away.
|

|
Work Experience
|
|
|
|
A minimum of seven years of relevant technical experience in systems analysis, development and programming using Microsoft .NET/C#, ASP.NET and/or ASP.NET MVC, SQL. Experience of working with Windows forms development is required. Experience in Windows WPF, SOA, XML is highly desirable. Experience of a test driven development is an advantage.

Languages

|
|
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English, i.e. oral and written proficiency, is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
