This position is located in the Lotus Notes Administration Services Team (LNAST), Corporate Core Services Unit (CCSU), Information Technology Service (ITS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna, Austria. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Team Leader LNAST and the overall guidance of the Chief, Corporate Core Services Unit.

Responsibilities
|
|
|
|
Within assigned authority the Information Technology Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
• Perform regular monitoring of database replication logs, maintain and create database replicas in Domino servers including cluster servers, monitoring of Lotus Domino Servers including routine troubleshooting, escalating issues to higher level including contacting and submitting problem reports to the vendor;
• Perform routine user administration and management, Lotus Notes client installation, configuration, and deployment;
• Manage and maintain the archives of users’ mail files, perform regular monitoring of replications to the UNODC field offices;
• Collect statistics on the performance and reliability of the Lotus Notes client and general issues;
• Assist and perform as second level support to requests from user offices and helpdesk;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Education
|

High school diploma or equivalent. Supplementary courses/technical certificates in information technology is required.
|

Work Experience
|
|
|
|
A minimum of seven years of experience in information technology or related area. Solid knowledge and experience of technologies used in Lotus Notes/Domino is required.
|
|
|
|
Languages
|
|
|
|
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the post advertised fluency in English, i.e. oral and written proficiency, is required. Knowledge of the local language, German is desirable. Working knowledge of another United Nations official language is an asset.
