This position is located in the Investment Management Division of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. Within delegated authority, the Information Systems Officer will be reporting to a Senior Information Systems Officer
|

|
Responsibilities
|
|
|
|
The Information Systems Officer will be responsible for the following duties: • Support and maintain a Messaging Protocol SWIFT (“Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication”), namely: SWIFT Alliance Access, SWIFT Alliance Gateway and SWIFT messaging, and all supported SWIFT related applications and data; • Maintain data feeds and perform data quality assurance of supporting systems, as well as maintenance of batch processes and systems interfaces, namely: Compliance Module and Risk & Performance Solution; •Support and maintain integration to SWIFT messages of portfolio accounting (back-office) and reconciliation systems; • Document business and system workflows, methodologies and customizations and outline detailed user requirements; • Business analysis for Investment Management supporting processes (middle and back-office), identify application functionalities improvements; • Develop interfaces with different data feeds and systems such as Bloomberg Data License, Omgeo, MSCI Indexes, and any other data sources as needed; • Apply all required upgrades and/or customizations to keep the systems compliant with best industry standards as well as end-users’s requirements; • Maintaining all user security policies and acting as second security officer for business applications; • Backup a peer colleague -another Information System Officer- on matters related to Order Trading System and Accounting & Reconciliation System; • Liaise with the application providers for technical support. This position will also be responsible for supporting and maintaining three essential business applications: a Compliance Module for a trade order management system (front-office), a Risk and Performance Solution, and SWIFT interfaces with a portfolio accounting system and a reconciliation system. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining these secure financial communications protocols investment-related system applications and will apply all required upgrades to keep the systems up-and-running and compliant with best industry standards. The incumbent will maintain interfaces with various data sources.

Education
|
|
|
|
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in technology-related field such as information management, computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience
|
|
|
|
At least five years of progressively responsible experience in information technology field of which at least three years should be at the international level in the public/private sector. Three years of experience in SWIFT technology (SWIFT Alliance Access, SWIFT Alliance Gateway and SWIFT messaging) or equivalent including systems recovery and business continuity planning, and in back- and middle-office systems supporting interfaces with inter-bank messaging system such as SWIFT are highly desirable. Experience on maintaining various electronic formats of data feeds that interface with Risk and Performance Systems, Compliance Systems/Module, Accounting System, and Reconciliation Systems is desirable. Experience on most file transfer methods utilizing MQSeries, Connect: Direct NDM, FTP, scripting with Perl, Awk, and Unix-Solaris is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations is an advantage.
