|
The internship at the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology is for 3 months with an opportunity for extension, depending on the needs of the department.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities
|
|
|
|
The intern will perform the following tasks as part of his/her internship:
Under the Overall supervision of The Head of APCTT,
(a) Assist the Project Manager in the implementation of various activities under the Network for Knowledge Transfer on Sustainable Agricultural Technologies & Improved Linkages in South and Southeast Asia (SATNET ASIA) project of APCTT including the preparation of reports, development of information products and creation of databases
(b) Extend support to the knowledge management and outreach activities of SATNET Asia project
(c) Provide assistance to the Project Manager, in liaising and communicating with various project associates and stakeholders of the project for organizing capacity building programmes and workshops in the area of sustainable agriculture
(d) Perform analytical work on topics related to sustainable agriculture and food security and also compile information for SATNET Asia website
(e) Perform other related tasks time to time as required by the Project Manager as well as Head of APCTT.

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must met one of the following requirements: a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;

Work Experience
|
|
|
|
Applicants - are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme; - shall be computer literate in standard software applications; - have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and - have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Languages
|

|
|
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
